This might be a negotiation, a sales scenario, or an interpersonal conflict. Each Style of person responds to different approaches. Analytical style people will be open to other points of view when these are presented in a straightforward and logical manner. Begin by recognizing the thinking and effort that went into the person’s stance. This will open the door by easing any concern they may have about not being heard or understood. Then simply present the other perspectives and the reasoning behind each of them. These people will often be open to hearing other perspectives that they may not have considered.

The reliability of TRACOM’s SOCIAL STYLE Model™ and SOCIAL STYLE® assessments is the focus of this whitepaper. It specifically looks at retest reliability over time including each of the three components of SOCIAL STYLE: Assertiveness, Responsiveness and Versatility.

This graph and the other's in the whitepaper show the research group’s distribution of scores on each scale for the two time periods. While these graphs do not directly plot each individual’s scores across the two time periods, the consistency of the group’s scores is clearly visible.

However, there are some Style-related tips for delivering difficult messages. With Driving Style people it is best to be direct and candid. Give them the news and then provide the logic and facts that are related to the message. If the message is related to them personally or their performance, back up your feedback with specific examples. Focus on how their actions impact others, the organization, or the bottom line. If possible, provide them with options on how to move forward.
